Edward Thomas Birthday Walk 2020 – Rearranged date – Sunday 4 October 2020

1st March 2020 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm GMT

THE BIRTHDAY WALK

Edward Thomas Memorial Stone, Shoulder of Mutton Hill, Steep, Hampshire

Join fellow members of the Edward Thomas Fellowship on 4 October 2020 (subject to any health restrictions that may be in place at the time) as they celebrate the life of Edward Thomas and follow the steps of this renowned literary critic, writer and poet on the annual Edward Thomas Birthday Walk, which normally takes place at the beginning of March and has been delayed this year, around the Hangers overlooking the village of Steep.

As in previous years, there will be two walks during the day (led by Mike Cope), and you are
welcome to join either or both walks. Parking and toilets will be available throughout the day at
Bedales School.

Those coming on the morning walk should meet in the car park of Bedales School, Church Road, Steep, GU32 2DG, between 10:00 and 10:15 am. The morning walk (a fairly strenuous 5 1⁄2 miles) will start at 10:30 am prompt, and will include a visit to the memorial stone on the Shoulder of Mutton Hill.

Further details about both walks will be available in due course when the information has been updated at Edward Thomas Birthday Walk 2020.

Members of the public are welcome to come along and it is advised that everyone taking part familiarises themselves with details of the walks and the Fellowship’s Health and Safety advice.
